Swinging Saturdays #38: Her name is...

Swinging saturdays is a musical meme hosted by Ice Cold Passion, to share our passion for music. The goal is to make a top 5 (or Top 10) for whatever genre or artist you like or get creative and share a theme based music top 5. For example a bookish soundtrack, funny songs, song to listen to on a rainy day top 5.

This week, my top 10 consists of songs about girls and boy, there are so many! I was truly astonished that there were so many songs with girl names in it, think of Lola, Layla, Gloria, just to name a few.

1. Barry Manilow ~ Mandy

This song inspired this top 10. I was at work, when this song came on the radio and I thought: that would be a great idea for a top 10. So I went in search of pen and paper, and wrote down the first songs that popped into my mind, starting with this one.

2. Bastille ~ Laura Palmer

The more I listen to Bastille, the more I am loving them. Such a great band.

3. Mando Diao ~ Gloria

I am a big fan of this band, with the strange name that I sometimes have trouble remembering. Gloria is one of my favourites.

4. Doe Maar ~ Belle Helene

Well, these guys were legends here in the Netherlands, when my mom and dad were young. I love this song, but not everybody can appreciated it, I have heard :)

5. Elton John ~ Nikita

From one legend to the other, no explanation needs here.

6. My Chemical Romance ~ Helena

This was the first song I ever heard of this band, it sticked to me like glue.

7. Gruppo Sportivo ~ Bernadette

Another dusty one from my parents shelf.

8. Kaiser Chiefs ~ Ruby

Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, right...

9. Jack's Mannequin ~ Annie Use Your Telescope

I have had the cd, on repeat for a month, love the sound.

10. Nirvana ~ Polly

Nirvana!!!!!!! That's all you are getting!
