Swinging Saturdays #39: Her Name is... (part 2)

Swinging saturdays is a musical meme hosted by Ice Cold Passion, to share our passion for music. The goal is to make a top 5 (or Top 10) for whatever genre or artist you like or get creative and share a theme based music top 5. For example a bookish soundtrack, funny songs, song to listen to on a rainy day top 5.

Last week I did a Swinging Saturdays on girl names and I found out that there are a lot of songs about women. So I decided to do another post about it.

1. The Police ~ Roxanne

Great way to start this top ten I thought, the first word is literary Roxanne! Great music!

2. Green Day ~ Viva La Gloria

I have seen this band live only once it was wicked good!

3. Nick & Simon ~ Rosanne

Seems like the Dutch love to sing about women.  They are very popular in Holland.

4. Dolly Parton ~ Jolene

One of the greatest country singers out there and who doesn't know Jolene?

5. De Heideroosjes ~ Sjonnie & Anita

More Dutch glory, this time I have chosen Dutch punk! De Heideroosjes are a punk band with great funny and  ironic lyrics.

6. Paolo Nutini ~ Jenny Don't Be Hasty

I am going to see Paolo Nutini again in november! I am already looking forward to this! He is such a great singer, this is from is first album.

7. The Wombats ~ Dr. Suzanne Mattox PHD

Energetic, indie band, gotta love them!

8. Santana ~ Maria, Maria

This is one of those sappy songs that I do love, I am not a big fan of songs like Enrique Iglesias or Ricky Martin, but this is of an hole other level!

9. Billy Talent ~ Saint Veronika

Rock on!

10. Nightwish ~ Creek Mary's Blood

It's only my favourite gothic rock band in the world, also one of my favourite songs ever!

So that's it for my Top 10!!!What is your Top 10 this week?
