Swinging Saturdays #40: Jack White Spotlight

Swinging saturdays is a musical meme hosted by Ice Cold Passion, to share our passion for music. The goal is to make a top 5 (or Top 10) for whatever genre or artist you like or get creative and share a theme based music top 5. For example a bookish soundtrack, funny songs, song to listen to on a rainy day top 5.

Today's top 10 consists of one of my favourite singers of all time, a voice I will recognize everywhere: Jack White! A little while a go I went to a concert of his, it was awesome! It's one of those artists I have been following forever, but never seen him live until now.

For the people who think, Jack White???!?!? Doesn't ring a bell, wel he is mostly know as the singer of the White Stripes, which almost everybody know one song from: Seven Nation Army (look it up, I am pretty sure you will recognize it!) After the White Stripes, he also played with the Raconteurs and Dead Weather. After which he went solo, his second album, Lazaretto,  has just been released. He still manages to make his music, his style is very recognizable, even when he played with other bands.

Today I will be sharing his music, from both his solo albums, the White Stripes and the Raconteurs. (I am leaving out Dead Weather, didn't really get into their music.)

1. White Stripes ~ I wanted to be the boy who warmed your mother's heart

This if from the White Stripes album Elephant, it is one of my favourites, and I think the lyrics is funny but kind of sad at the same time.

2. White Stripes ~ You've Got Her In Your Pocket

Also from Elephant, just an adorable song.

3. White Stripes ~ Denial Twist

I don't know how he pulls it of it is freaking fast. I have been trying to learn this forever and still stumble over the words.  (Album: Get Behind Me Satan)

4. White Stripes ~ As Ugly As I Seems

Also from Get Behind Me Satan.

5. The Raconteurs ~ Steady As She Goes

This is an awesome preformance!!!

6. The Raconteurs ~ Blue Veins

7. Jack White ~  Love Interruptions

This is by far my favourite song from Jack's first solo album Blunderbuss.

8. Jack White ~ Hip (Eponymous) Boy

It is a song that is fun and it sticks! Apparently it is also a very popular song to cover. When I was searching for some great live material I came across about a million covers of this song..

9. Jack White ~ Three Women

This is from his new album, Lazaretto

10. Jack White ~ Would You Fight For Love?

Yet another side from Jack, this is also from Lazaretto.

So that's it for my Top 10!!!What is your Top 10 this week?
