Synopsis

College freshman Claire Danvers has had enough of her nightmarish dorm situation. When Claire heads off-campus, the imposing old house where she finds a room may not be much better. Her new roommates don't show many signs of life, but they'll have Claire's back when the town's deepest secrets come crawling out, hungry for fresh blood. Will she be able to face the town's terror or will she drown like everyone else?

Review

This book gives another twist on the overly crowded vampire genre. This time the vampires rule the town. They are the ones that make up the rules, and the townspeople are oppressed and  scare for their lives. The new to town people, well, they are fair game for the vamps, and they might turn our to be supper, because of it.

During the day, you can surely take a stroll in the blistering sun. Since these vampires do not like the sun as much as some do. I like that this book, stuck with the more traditional vampire kind. The ones that can't go out in the sun, some excluded. This book managed to keep it original, refreshing.

The main character Claire, is very clever, she skipped some grades in high school and starts college at  the age of sixteen, in Morganville of course. I liked Claire a lot, she smart, don't let other people get her down, and fights for what she thinks is right.

She  befriends here divers group of roommates,  the gothic girl Eve, who puts up a front but has a big heart, Micheal who has the most interesting secret of all, and Shane who I still don't understand at all.  The plot also got some interesting twists that kept me guessing throughout the story.

Rating

This really is a fast read, I finished it within two days, which is really quick by my standards. The wonderful plot and characters make this a 5 skaters worth read.
