My Review

I don't really know what to think of this book. It is not bad, but I could put it down easily, good books do not have that effect on me. They make me want to read it from start to finish. In this case it is not a bad thing, because you can enjoy the writing much longer. It is really beautifully written. We get a exciting mysteries to unravel. This is what keeps the book going, keeps it interesting.

The characters went through struggles, and half of time I struggled with them the other half of the time I questioned their motivation for the decisions they made. This book is well written, lots of references to other literature and history. I really liked that even though I do not know anything about the civil war (I am not American, so I didn't learn about it in high school) and don't know most of the authors they mentioned, but it was interesting.

Rating

The setting was great, I can see Ravenwood in my head. All in all a very well written book, good world building, suspensefull, mysterious and romantic. 3.5 skaters.

Music  ~ Frank Zappa ~ Drowning Witch

This song was mentioned in the book, and I think it is soothing.

Jace Everett ~ Bad Things

I know I associate this with the south due to True Blood, but I like it. It is a great fit for this book as well.
