Swinging Saturdays #105: The Apocalypse is coming

Swinging saturdays is a musical meme hosted by Ice Cold Passion, to share our passion for music. The goal is to make a top 5 (or Top 10) for whatever genre or artist you like or get creative and share a theme based music top 5. For example a bookish soundtrack, funny songs, song to listen to on a rainy day top 5.

 

Are you getting excited for halloween? It is only two weeks away! I already know what we will be doing, I am also thinking of putting some decorations up, if I can find any. Halloween is not celebrated here in the Netherlands. I tend to watch a lot of horror movies on halloween, doing a little movie marathon with snacks. Some candle light to get into the spirit. 

In all honesty I find it very difficult to do Halloween themed Swinging Saturdays, I know I did so in the past. So I can't use what I have done then, so coming up with fitting video's for the entire month of October was a bit of a challenge. So I decided I would just pick some darker themes. Today some interesting (post) apocalyptic music videos.

Within Temptation ft Tarja ~ What About Us

Interesting combination, Sharon and Tarja, I kind of like it. So this is definitely post apocalyptic. It seems to be taken place after some nuclear explotion. It is a very explosive song of it's self with lot's of energy and 2 powerhouses in the symphonic metal scene.

Muse ~ Algorithm

Yeah I am not sure if this is an alternate reality or whatever, I think it does fit in really well with the theme of this Swinging Saturdays, and I will leave it up to your own interpretation.

Foster the People ~ Helena Beat

Everybody know Foster the People from their one hit wonder Pumped Up Kicks, but did you know that they made some incredibly good music besides from Pumped Up Kicks? Helena Beat is one of those, great song, interesting video.

Nightwish ~ Noise

We are addicted to our social media, this takes our addiction to a whole new level, is this our future?

My Chemical Romance ~ Na Na Na

I am not sure what to make of this video, I love the song, and I find it extremely funny that certain words have been beeped out. I forgot that that they do that in the USA. Or maybe even to stay on YouTube, that may also be a factor. Anyways, if you have an explainion to go with this video please let me know.

Bonus song! Iron Maiden ~ The Writing On The Wall

I am not the biggest fan of Iron Maiden, it is not really my thing, but it is Martijn's thing. And when he showed me this video I just had to include it, because it is damn good. So here it is.
