Swinging Saturdays #64 Discovered in April

Swinging saturdays is a musical meme hosted by Ice Cold Passion, to share our passion for music. The goal is to make a top 5 (or Top 10) for whatever genre or artist you like or get creative and share a theme based music top 5. For example a bookish soundtrack, funny songs, song to listen to on a rainy day top 5.
Yes, I know, May is half way gone as well, but music wise April was much more interesting to discuss. I discovered loads of new music, here 10 songs I am really excited about. Let me know which of these artists you like.

1. Ignea ~ Şeytanu Akbar

Album: The Sign Of Faith
Pretty extreme and loaded theme, but it covers the message very well. Interesting album, very good Gothic Rock. I came across their music on Facebook.

2. Roadcrew ~ Mary Jane

Album: Snake In The Dirt This band is actually a very local band, as in they live about a 15 minute drive from where I live, which is awesome. Also I was very surprised at how awesome their music is.

3. Jagd ~ Parlay

Album: Parlay
I am a big fan of anything indie rock, therefore this band is right up to my alley. I love the beats and the quick guitar work. Hope you enjoy this as well, if you do please follow them on Spotify or YouTube! They could use some more listeners.

4. Baking Buddha ~ Golden Tops

This band won a place at a music festival one town over, and also a local band. I didn't know our province (Flevoland) had that much talent.

5. Dean Lewis ~ Waves

I saw Dean Lewis live at Bitterzoet in Amsterdam at Dotan's 7 Layers sessions. When he played this song, Waves, I was sold. It's such a pretty song, right then and there I understood why Dotan had chosen this singer songwriter for his shows.

6. STAVAST ~ Vanaf Hier!

Album: STAVAST
Former frontman of the Dutch punk band The Heideroosjes. Now he and his band Stavast has produced a entirely Dutch album. I must say is sounds very much as his former band, but that is oke, because I still love it!

7. Steve N Seagulls ~ Thunderstruck (AC/DC cover)

This is what you would call a cover well done! I am very impressed by these guys. And I think it is kind of hilarious. They also did a cover of You Shook Me All Night Long and Self Esteem by the Offspring. This band was actually a suggestion from my dad.

8. Dave Hause ~ Wild Love

Album: Bury Me In Philly
My colleague (same one who introduced me to Frank Turner) said, well this band is coming to town, I think it will be something you would like, do you want to go? So I listened to it on Spotify, was sold and said: yes, please I want to go! So we went to Bitterzoet, Amsterdam. And it was freaking fantastic! The live edition of the song at Bitterzoet got me hooked, I loved it instantly.

9. Black Stone Cherry ~ Cheaper To Drink Alone

Album: Kentucky
Reminds me a little of Nickelback, it is a nice mash up between rock and country. I really like it, it is catchy and this music video is hilarious.

10. Between May and April ~ The Void

Album: The Void
Another local band, their music is really good, and very interesting. They are very young..
