Swinging Saturdays #77: Spotify ABC ~ B

Swinging saturdays is a musical meme hosted by Ice Cold Passion, to share our passion for music. The goal is to make a top 5 (or Top 10) for whatever genre or artist you like or get creative and share a theme based music top 5. For example a bookish soundtrack, funny songs, song to listen to on a rainy day top 5.

 Good afternoon everybody, 

Today we are going on with the Spotify ABC, 5 artists with a B. 5, only 5, this is going to be my worst nightmare, there are so many great artists here, like Bruno Mars, Band of Skulls Blue October, Blauzun Blood Red Shoes, The Black Keys, The Black Belles, Ben Howard. 

How am I going to select only five? Let's find out shall we?

 

Barns Courtney ~ Fire

This my favorite artist of now, I don't remember where I found this, maybe out of a line up of some festival, when we could still go to a festival. I have been loving his music so much, and often listen to it when working. It is so freaking cathcy. So here is Fire for you. If you like it check out Glitter and Gold as well.

Ben Caplan ~ Down The River

This is actually something Martijn let me hear, even before we were dating. I was blown away by Ben's voice, and the strange athmosphere the songs give off. It feels dark and beautiful. I would love to see him live some day, I am impressed by the live preformance you will find below. So much power in his voice.

Blossoms ~ Charlemange

Blossoms was the support act of... I don't remember it has been awhile. Oke I dove deep into the archives, they were the support act for Jake Bugg, in TivoliVredenburg, in 2016. Wow I have been following them a long time! They were one of those support acts that stuck with me, I have been following them ever since. Their music is right up my alley the kind of indie rock I am always looking for.

The Bluebirds ~ Anything

I would have given Anything, to find a live performance of this song. The Bluebirds started a fun project for 3 Dutch singers, covering the legends of country. In 2018 they released an album, called Sisters. I believe this should be an original album, but if it has covers please let me know.

Blues Pills ~ Little Boy Preachers

Another one coming via my awesome boyfriend.. Yeah we both love music, if you might not have noticed. Lady Dressed In Gold, was in one of the spotify lists, he created. Everytime I turned on this list an this song came by I stopped to listen. I fell in love with the sound of this band, now it is one of my favorites. Let know what you think..


That's it for this top 5, I loved putting this list together, allthough it was really hard. I have so many B favorites, it turns out. I only narrowed down the list, by excluding bands that I have already discussed here on the blog, getting some fresh artists for you to fall in love with.
