About Moon Called

Meet Mercedes Thompson, Volkswagen Mechanic, walker, and bad ass hero. Not that she would think so herself, she is less confident in her strengths.

Living in the Tri-city area, means she has to deal with her Alpha werewolf neighbour, she is fixing a VW bus for her vampire friend Stefan, and bought the garage form Zee, a fae. Yes in this world we find all kinds of creatures, also the ones that only come out at night.

Mercy was living a quiet live until Mac shows up on her doorstep. A newly turned werewolf, not accustomed to his new abilities. She gets tangled in the web of supernatural crime. Follow her on the journey to find out what happened to Mac and how is responsible for Jesse's (Mercy friend and daughter of the sexy Alpha neighbour) kidnapping.

My thoughts

I stumbled on to this series a long time ago, it think it was when I was still very active on Goodreads. It might have been recommended to me by someone. I have had this book in my collection for a while, I read it first in 2015, but never thought of writing a review for it.

I think I never managed to write a review on this because the book was over before I knew it. I went through it with some much speed that in the end I forgot about the details, that made this book so great. I did not know how to pin point what made it so great.

This book is a wild ride, which starts out slow, explaining a bit about our main character Mercy, and the world see lives in, it is like writing to the top of a rollercoaster, at first, and then when it drops down, you gather so much speeds, things happen all at the same time. And when the write is over, you want to do it all over again. That is kind of what this first book feels like for me.

I love Mercy as a character, the fact that here name is Mercedes and she is a Volkswagen mechanic. I think this is hilarious and it is also one of the most popular brands of cars here in the Netherlands. She is one kick ass main character, but she is modest about her abilities and the extend of her powers is not really clear in this first book. We still have a lot of mystery going on, about the being she is. I like that and hope to find out more along the way.

Conclusion

I absolutely loved this book and will continue the series, even though series this long scare me a little bit, twelve books and counting.I haven't finished any serie for the last five years. So a 12 book series, really will be a challenge of a lifetime for me.  Luckily, I have also already finished the second book in the series, and are 25% in the third book. Let's see how far I will get before I get distracted by some other series. Back to conclusions, this book is action packed, with a wonderful urban fantasy setting, it has everything  I want, werewolves, vampires, fae, all livinge amongst us. What else do you need?

"Someone should have awarded me a P.h.D in werewolf psychology and counseling, surely I deserved something for putting up with this garbage."
