Swinging Saturdays is a musical meme hosted by Ice Cold Passion, to share our passion for music. The goal is to make a top 5 (or Top 10) for whatever genre or artist you like or get creative and share a theme based music top 5. For example a bookish soundtrack, funny songs, song to listen to on a rainy day top 5.
Are you watching any scary movies today? Or are you a chicken and are going to watch ParaNorman?
I think I will see what Netflix's has to offer me. Krull up on the couch with a blanket, with my black cat, boyfriend and popcorn. Sounds like a great plan! Halloween is not really celebrated here in the Netherlands even though some of the stores do try their best. I don't watch normal television anymore so I don't know if they have finally decided to follow the trend. Anyways back to music because there are songs about ghosts, and ghosts are the perfect subject for Halloween, oh maybe I should watch Thirteen Ghost tonight, I loved that movie. Yes ghosts, here we go.
Ghost ~ Dance Macabre
This is the first thing I thought of when I started this Swinging Saturdays, I could not, not put this in here, with a band name like that. And they have been around for a while. I know they played the big festivals in the Netherlands like Pinkpop. I never given it a proper listening, because I thought it would be death metal, which I don't really enjoy. Turns out I got this totally wrong! They don't grunt for starters, which is a good thing. The singer actually has a great classic metal voice. It reminds me a bit of Ozzy or Arena. I actually really enjoy this sound. This is going on my playlist!Mumford and Sons ~ The Ghost That We Knew
Big big fan of Mumford and Sons, they never dissapoint. I love this part of de lyrics "The Ghost that we knew, will flicker from view, and we'll live a long life" Just wow.White Stripes ~ Little Ghost
The White Stripes will always have a special place in my heart. It helpt me through a lot of bad times, and thsi song is just very funny and very cute. It always makes me smile.Asaf Avidan ~ Ghost before the wall
I just love Asaf Avidan, I went to see him live in TivoliVredenburg (Utrecht) last year or the year before, the concert was amazing. My love for Asaf began when One Day came out. And I think I have talked about him many times here on the blog, so he needs no introduction.Ray Parker Jr. ~ Ghostbusters
Have to leave you with this one ofcourse, come on, I know you secretly love this as well, hope it will put a smile on your face.Which ghosts are haunting you?
